Suriyon has been working in Thailand’s national development planing agency for more than37 years. His area of works have been in regional development, state-owned enterprise, agricuture, manufacturing, tourism, science-technology-innovation, logistics and infrastructure development, competitveness, and creative economy.
Suriyon has been working with issues and stakeholders from national level to local community. His experiences are about driving strategy into actions with various partners and different levels of keystakeholders, project and investment analysis, strategic planning, industry and regional devlopment, project and program evaluation, knowledge management and training, strategic consultant, and for the last 4 years, leading the co-operation project between UNDP and NESDC named Thailand Policy Lab or TPLab.
He is convinced that our public policy process needs to be reformed. It’s not responsive enough to people’s needs and pain points.
The system favors conformity rather than accommodating creativity, certainty rather than effectiveness, and is not leveraging new generations’ entrepreneurship.
