Eduard’s unwavering commitment to the transformation of education led him to establish the University for International Cooperation in 1994, where he presently serves as the Rector and President. He stands as a prominent global advocate for regenerative development rooted in the Planetary Boundaries Approach and the “Safe Operating Space for Humanity” concept. His visionary approach seeks inventive solutions to contemporary challenges through collaborative transdisciplinary efforts, effectively harnessing biodiversity, climate change and socio-economic scenarios. This approach integrates economic, societal, cultural, environmental, political, and spiritual dimensions with the overarching objective of ameliorating global conditions and enhancing the well-being of all life forms. Notably, in July 2018, he spearheaded the inauguration of the Regenerate Costa Rica initiative, a bioregional endeavor that garnered support from over 40 international and national partners. Eduard’s illustrious professional journey, spanning more than four decades and encompassing five continents, has bestowed upon him international recognition as a trailblazing leader.
