The Istanbul Innovation Days 2025 (IID) took place in Istanbul on 25-26 March 2025. Since its inception in 2015, IID has served as UNDP’s flagship event for exploring emerging signals of change, co-creating transformative pathways, and building partnerships for a better future. IID has become a renowned annual gathering for exploring and accelerating organizational learning about emerging trends and innovative approaches to development and policy making. Marking its 10th Anniversary in 2025, IID convened global leaders and thinkers to address the pressing challenges of our rapidly changing world. This milestone event underscores UNDP’s commitment to advancing institutional innovation in response to the urgent pressures and uncertainties of our time.
By fostering partnerships and promoting innovation, UNDP works with countries to develop policies, leadership skills, and institutional capabilities to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

TIAL
The Institutional Architecture Lab (TIAL) was founded in 2023 by Sir Geoff Mulgan, Jessica Seddon, and Juha Leppänen to unite the institutional design community, fostering collective learning and growth. TIAL was established to address a critical gap: the absence of a formal community for practitioners and scholars engaged in creating and redesigning institutions. While groundbreaking work is being done worldwide, it often lacks recognition and a shared platform for collaboration.
TIAL bridges this gap by:
- Connecting those interested in the practice and theory of institutional design.
- Facilitating knowledge exchange and shared learning.
- Cultivating a professional community equipped to design new institutions across diverse issues and geographies.
